Interested candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria given below can apply online from Sept 19, 2014 through

Eligibility Criteria:
PhD Programme in Science:
(i) Masters degree in Biological sciences (Biotechnology, Microbiology, Botany, Biochemistry, Food Science & Technology), Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences (Physics, Material Science and related Sciences/Technology), Mathematics, Geological Sciences, having a valid research fellowship offer
(JRF/SRF) from UGC/ CSIR/DBT/ ICMR//DST-INSPIRE etc or any other equivalent research
fellowship programme.
PhD Programme in Engineering:
(i) Only for applicants with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering/Material Science
&Technology, Metallurgy related disciplines having valid CSIR JRF or SRF only.
Candidates without any valid research fellowship as mentioned above or those who have qualified only the
CSIR/UGC lectureship (LS) category or GATE are not eligible to apply for PhD programme . Such
applications will not be considered.
Admission criteria for SC / ST / Physically Handicapped candidates is relaxable as per GOI rules.
